| Bio: | I am in my mid-twenties and I live in NYC. I am a Ph.D. student in the English department at the City University of New York and I teach in the CUNY system. My field of speciality is the high modernists and therory, especially T. S. Eliot, Ezra Pound, and Friedrich Nietzsche. I'm also interested in the connections between modernism and romanticism, especially romantic authors as William Blake, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and John Keats. Just about now I realized this bio sounds really pompus but I'm on a roll so I am going to stick with it. For now. ;) For most of my life I lived in New England and I went to school at Boston University and the University of Massachusetts, where I earned a B.A. in Astrophysics (Boston University) and a Master's degree in Physics (UMass) as well as a B.A. in English (UMass). I currently live with my fiance and two black cats, Lenore and Annabel Lee (I like Poe). Some of my interests include reading, writing (I am working on my second novel and have been published in some school and small press publications), playing the flute, watching anime, and going to nightclubs. I hate labels with a passion but if I am being honest I have to call myself a part of the "goth" subculture. I am a liberal (I've marched in several anti-war demonstrations) and I hate George W. These days I spend most of my time wandering around the East Village in a caffeine or liquor-induced haze (sometime both at once!) I have terribly eclectic music tastes: some of my favourite artists are Bauhaus, Godsmack, Cruxshadows, VNV Nation, Billie Holliday, and Tom Waits. My favourite drink is Chartreuse and I really like cheese. |
